PROCEDURE FOR GAME CHANGES
Game changes are made only with the approval of team coach, myself and Minos. Once the schedule is made, it is a tremendous undertaking to coordinate the change and therefore, requests considered include those surrounding conflicting games for coach, acceptable request from opposing team, events where attendance by significant number of players is affected.
--The person receiving a request for change should direct the communications to the team manager and coach of that team with the team manager providing the direct role in communication.
--Primary coach, Minos and Lou are to be copied on all communications
--The manager and primary coach will work closely together on the game change. However, the decision on appropriateness and acceptable date and time for change is the primary coach's decision and can be overturned by Minos or Lou if the decision is deemed unacceptable.
--The coach's decision on date and time will be based on variables that include: conflicts that primary coach has with other games, availability of players who scheduled to float between games and the availability of fields of hosting team. Field space for home games for U8 Black and higher is limited!
--It is helpful to have more than one acceptable option for the other team to consider and the team manager will communicate these options to the opposing team and obtain confirmation on agreement of change
--Once agreement is reached on date and time change each step must be followed below:
1) The CUFC website schedule needs to be updated by team manager with a note that this game was moved up from another date. Instead of deleting the original game, simply save the original game as cancelled by checking the "cancelled" box which will make the event appear with a strikethrough. This is helpful to all looking at the schedule to know that this has been moved
2) The manager needs to email the entire CUFC team involved with the change copying the coach and Minos and Lou. Remember, many parents may refer to an old copy of the schedule printed and placed on the refrigerator
3) Minos and I need to be copied so we are at least aware of what is going on.
4) If it is a home game, copying Minos serves to adjust the referee schedule accordingly.
