posted 09/06/2010 Chicago United U9 Black, U10 Black and U11 Black teams participated in the NSR Gold Cup this Labor Day weekend. Here are the results summary for each team:
U9 Black
The team went 1-1-1 falling just short of qualifying for the playoffs based on goal differential. While the team demonstrated their ability to play in a top tier tourney, Coach Charlie hopes to see the team build on their experiences from this weekend.
U10 Black
The team went undefeated in divisional play going 3-0 on Saturday and Sunday defeating Fusion from Indy, Heat United from Huntley and Aurora Flames with only 3 goals against and a total goal differential of +18 . Today, U10 Black continued their undefeated run in the semifinals dominating the Orland Park Eagles with a 5-1 performance. The team faced stiffer competition in the finals against Plainfield Legends reaching the end of regulation nil-nil but went on to win the championship in dramatic fashion in OT PK's.
U11 Black
The team dominated the entire U11 boys division with 20 goals scored while maintaining a clean sheet for all games played. In divisional play, U11 Black defeated Cicero Mayas, NSA Ravens and Plainfield Legends with scores of 4-0, 5-0 and 6-0 respectively and went on to defeat both Chicago Fire Juniors teams entered in this age group in the semifinals and finals by scores of 3-0 and 2-0 with dominating ball possession and stifling defense.
Congratulations to NSR Gold Cup Champions, CUFC U10 Black and CUFC U11 Black!
