CUFC U10 Teams Dominate at National Indoors
by posted 03/01/2010

Coach Charlie with U10 Black and U10 Blue Champions and Runners Up

This past weekend, CUFC U10 Black and CUFC U10 Blue both participated in the U10 Indoor National Indoor Soccer Championships in Cleveland, OH. In the first stage of the tourney, both teams went 3-0 each, dominating group play with total goals for/against of 33/3 for U10 Black and 29/7 for U10 Blue defeating easily teams from OH, NY, IN, PA and NC. Earning the number 1 and 2 seeds respectively, U10 Black and U10 Blue made their way through elimination bracket and met each other in the finals for an ALL UNITED Championship game.

The highlight of bracket play were the semifinals with both teams playing simultaneously. On one pitch, U10 Black defeated FC Nova from MI, the same team U10 Black defeated last year in Indoor National Championship finals. On the other pitch, U10 Blue faced Chivas All Stars from IL and battled to tie the game up off of Andrew A's foot with 2 minutes left in the game. In OT, U10 Blue took care of business in spectacular fashion with a golden goal from Dominick S from a beautiful feed from Eduardo G securing the semifinal victory with U10 Black rushing the field to join their teammates in celebration.

The line ups for each team were as follows:
U10 Black: Alexis G, Alfredo G, Leo C, David P, Flavio T, Nick M, Anthony M, Emiliano A, Jared S (guest-Campton United) and Coco D (guest-Dabrico United)
U10 Blue: Victor B, Andrew A, Bryan G, Danny R, Eduardo G, AJ C, Dominick S (guest-Plainfield Freedom), Brady M (guest-Plainfield Freedom) and Quenton R (guest-Plainfield Freedom)
Both teams were led by Coach Charlie.

Congratulations to both teams!
